After joining Zhong Lun Law Firm LLP (Zhong Lun HK Office) in late 2023, Alan established the Debt Capital Markets (“DCM”) (Hong Kong) team, focusing on cross-border financing and bond issuance projects. With his extensive experience in the DCM sector, Alan successfully led the Zhong Lun Hong Kong DCM team to issue over 30 offshore bonds within a short period, demonstrating strong execution capabilities and a notable market presence. In July 2024, he was appointed as a member of the Bond Review Committee of Chongwa (Macao) Financial Asset Exchange Co., Ltd. (“MOX”) for a two-year term (July 2024 to June 2026), contributing to the exchange’s development and regulatory oversight. By June 2024, Alan’s leadership helped Zhong Lun’s Hong Kong office achieve a significant milestone, ranking 15th as issuer’s international counsel and 16th as joint lead managers’ counsel in the DCM market, marking a significant improvement in the firm’s competitive standing.

Alan also played a key role in assisting the Hong Kong office to obtain a Singapore bonds listing agent qualification. Additionally, he actively participates in client training sessions to elevate the DCM legal industry, promoting best practices and knowledge sharing. He collaborated with CCB Asia and Zhong Lun’s Beijing office titled “In-Depth Analysis of the Offshore Bond Market: Trustee System, Holder Protection and Default Dispute Resolution”, and co-hosted a training session on the enforcement of keepwell agreements with Des Voeux Chambers. Beyond his professional work, Alan was elected as the President of the Jinan Association in Hong Kong (Licheng Branch), where he fosters community engagement and promotes cultural exchange.

In terms of personal growth, Alan has actively organised and completed courses in debt capital markets to enhance his expertise and ability to provide strategic advice to clients. He often participates in webinars and conferences to discuss industry challenges such as rising inflation, interest rates, and geopolitical tensions that affect market sentiment and cross-border issuance. His partners highly recognised his talent for client development and calm attitude under pressure.
