MinterEllison LLP
Jun has over 10 years of experience, currently focusing on probate and estate administration, contentious regulatory, commercial litigation and competition law.
In the past year, Jun has demonstrated exceptional leadership and collaborative skills as the lead representative in the protracted probate dispute of the late Mr. Lim Por Yen. Steering a 25-day trial in 2024, Jun orchestrated a team of three and worked with a wonderful counsel team from Temple Chambers through the complicated case that spanned over a decade. Jun, as the responsible partner, showcased his leadership skills by swiftly mobilising his team to assist his clients throughout the intricate trial. Jun's proactive approach also strengthened the collaborative dynamics among the team, ensuring a cohesive and responsive legal front.
Furthermore, Jun has extensive experience in handling contentious regulatory matters. He regularly advises the Hong Kong Competition Commission and has represented the Commission in various enforcement actions in the Competition Tribunal, including the first Competition Tribunal enforcement action on cartel conduct concerning applications for government subsidies. Jun has also advised numerous listed companies and their senior management on securities regulatory matters. Recently, Jun advised the audit committee of a Hong Kong listed company in an independent review arising from anonymous allegations concerning the commercial rationale of certain transactions of the company, and also provided counsel in connection with the company's successful application for resumption of trading.
As MinterEllison LLP's first GBA-qualified lawyer, Jun is now leading the charge in establishing connections with PRC law firms in the Greater Bay Area, spearheading the firm's business development initiatives in this economically dynamic region.
Jun regularly gives seminars to the professional industry on regulatory topics. In the past year, he illuminated the intricacies of Hong Kong's whistleblowing protection laws and discussed the implications for corporate governance and the legal sector's involvement.
Meanwhile, Jun is also enthusiastic about broadening non-local students' engagement with the Hong Kong community, and is part of the City University of Hong Kong's non-residential home hospitality program for non-local post-graduate students.
