Mr. Zhao focuses his practice on private equity fund formation, fund investment, real estate transaction and real estate investment fund. He has represented more than 20 foreign and domestic PE funds to invest in, acquire and sell various portfolio companies in and out of China in the last few years. Meanwhile, he has provided legal services for more than 10 foreign and domestic equity investment managers in RMB fund formation in China. Mr. Zhao has also represented foreign and domestic real estate investment funds and developers to deal with a variety of real estate acquisition and transfer projects. These achievements did not include development in more than 10 new clients in the last year, including leading SOEs, investment banks, investment fund managers, Fortune 500 companies, technological innovation based start-ups, etc. 

All of the above successfully propelled Mr. Zhao's election as the Committee Member of the Fund Business Committee of Shanghai Bar Association and Top 15 Rising Partners in China in 2023 by LEGALBAND. Mr. Zhao deserves these honours because he possessed excellent professional qualities and strong communication skills, which made him perform extraordinarily well in the case of an international leading real estate investment fund manager establishing an RMB private equity investment fund together with five insurance companies. With fully understanding regulatory regulations, previous transaction documents, and insurance compliance requirements, Mr. Zhao managed to achieve a good balance between the commercial demands of all parties and the compliance red line of related party transactions.

In showcasing corporate social responsibility and giving back, Mr. Zhao constantly dedicates his time and efforts on community services and helped many organizations including Shanghai Services Federation, Shanghai Service Industries Development and Research Foundation and Shanghai Fudan University Education Development Foundation on their pro bono projects.
