Willa Legal

Willa is a technically strong and commercially astute lawyer with well-rounded industry knowledge, connections, and operates with the utmost integrity. She represented a fund manager in structuring and negotiating for a blind pool Japan-focused private equity fund, and provided Hong Kong securities law compliance support to a client representing a family office in launching a US$300 million hedge portfolio. Recently, Willa led a project for a Luxembourg-based fund manager in the restructuring of a US$100 million fund-of-funds, involving negotiating with fund investors on the potential Delaware continuation fund and drafting a consent and waiver.

By maintaining a lean and streamlined team in a specialist boutique law firm setting, Willa led the growth and development of Willa Legal, specialising in private investment fund-related matters. They offer clients tailored pricing structures that provide certainty and flexibility, ensuring better planning and management of legal costs.

Willa's adeptness underscored her exceptional interpersonal and problem-solving skills, especially in handling multi-disciplinary, multi-jurisdictional, and multi-faceted matters involving various conflicting interests. She authored the Annotated Ordinances: Limited Partnership Fund Ordinance (Cap. 637), a key legal reference for practitioners published by LexisNexis. Willa is also a volunteer mentor for various mentorship programs organised by the Government, different professional bodies, and law schools.

Willa is always reliable, responsive, and can be trusted with high-value and strategically important transactions.
