As Of Counsel of the A&O Shearman APAC Restructuring Group, Janice has consistently demonstrated an exceptional legal skillset and unwavering dedication to the Greater China restructuring market. Janice adeptly represented different stakeholders in cross-border restructuring and insolvency situations, including companies, noteholders, lenders and insolvency practitioners, showcasing her comprehensive understanding of local restructuring and insolvency laws and the ability to navigate highly complex situations.

Janice's leadership is exemplified by her organizing a networking initiative aimed at fostering a supportive community for women in the private credit industry. She also co-led the organization of and delivered key sessions at a comprehensive restructuring and insolvency training program for clients in the finance sector which was hugely successful and very well received. Janice's passion for sharing her restructuring and insolvency expertise is also evident in her involvement with insolvency training programs organized by professional bodies, where she conducts seminars and draws upon her own past experiences as a beneficiary.

Janice's commitment to giving back to the community is commendable. She champions diversity, equity, and inclusion within and beyond the firm, serving as a member of the firm's DE&I committee and actively supporting initiatives focused on race and ethnicity, as well as social mobility. Over the years, she has mentored a 10-year-old boy from a single-parent, underprivileged background through the Society for Community Organization's Child Mentorship Scheme and offered pro bono legal advice to members of the public through the Free Legal Advice Scheme.
