Winfield’s expertise is firmly rooted in Hong Kong corporate and securities laws. Since joining in 2016, he has been pivotal in the growth of the China practice at Wilson Sonsini. Through the years, Winfield has helped propel the China capital markets team to becoming one of the top market players in Greater China, which has consistently ranked among the forefronts in terms of the number of Hong Kong and U.S. IPOs completed in recent years. Among Winfield’s standout achievements include advising on Wuxi XDC’s award-winning IPO, Black Sesame's pioneering Chapter 18C IPO as the first applicant filed under the new listing regime for specialist tech firms, and Dida, China's leading mobility platform, in its IPO. Winfield's success is attributed to his expertise in navigating regulatory requirements in both Hong Kong and the U.S., as well as his extensive experience in IPO and regulatory compliance. Notably, Winfield also acted as legal counsel for Concord Healthcare's Hong Kong IPO, a spin-off from a U.S.-listed company, showcasing his professional capabilities in complex cross-market transactions.

Beyond his professional career, Winfield is deeply committed in advancing the legal industry and fostering the next generation of legal professionals. He actively engages in professional activities organized by the Hong Kong Law Society and his alma mater, the University of Hong Kong and St. Paul’s College, where he contributes by participating in various mentorship programs tailored for law students aspiring to enter private practice.
