Qijie Huang
Counsel
Shihui Partners
Qijie Huang specializes in litigation related to intellectual property and competition law. He has been deeply involved in numerous representative and influential cases within the industry, and he has extensive experience handling complex litigation and administrative adjudication cases before IP courts/tribunals and IP offices at all levels across China. Several of his cases have been recognized as landmark or innovative.
In the past year, Qijie Huang achieved notable results at the intersection of technical standards, brand protection, and industrial technology. As external counsel for a leading telecommunications company, he directed technical analysis of a substantial portfolio of 4G/5G standard-essential patents (SEPs), identified high-value assets for global enforcement, and coordinated offensive-defensive litigation strategies anticipating actions in China and other jurisdictions. He has also handled patent infringement and administrative cases in sectors such as medical devices and automotive components, unfair competition disputes involving trade secret misappropriation, patent ownership disputes, trademark infringement, and copyright infringement cases related to industrial design software, ERP systems, and medical imaging.
His key contributions include conducting patent technical evaluations, developing comprehensive litigation strategies that integrate legal and commercial considerations, and securing favorable outcomes such as post-litigation licensing agreements and multimillion-CNY damages—significantly exceeding industry averages.
After seven years at King & Wood Mallesons, Qijie Huang joined Shihui Partners in 2025. His arrival has significantly strengthened the firm's profile and leadership in IP litigation.
Moving forward, he will continue to focus on cutting-edge IP and technology legal issues—particularly involving SEPs (especially in audio-video codecs) and AIGC—while staying attuned to international trends. Grounded in China’s judicial practice, he will maintain a global perspective and continue to take on major and highly complex intellectual property litigation cases.
