Over the past year, he was part of the team that led the creation and rapid growth of Gibson Dunn’s Asia-Pacific leveraged finance practice, advising on high-profile mandates for marquee clients including Bain, KKR and TPG. A driver of innovation, Stephen has helped bring sophisticated financing structures and cross-market insights to matters in Asia, contributing to the elevation of transactions standards across Asia. Beyond client work, Stephen is deeply committed to professional and team development. He leads the pro bono practice in Gibson Dunn’s Hong Kong office and serves as an active member of the firm’s AI Focus Group, piloting practical applications of emerging technology in legal practice. He also launched the knowledge-management programme for Gibson Dunn’s Asia leveraged finance team and regularly conducts training sessions for clients across the region.

Additionally, Stephen’s public service reflects a broader commitment to community impact. He advises on the HKSAR Housing Bureau’s Appeal Panel and a Sub-Committee of the HKSAR’s Advisory Committee on Agriculture and Fisheries, and he previously served as an adjudicator on the HKSAR Immigration Tribunal. He also supports various charities, including PILNet, Equal Justice and RUN HK.
