LexisNexis® ELITE Award – Excellence in Legal Innovation, Tech & Ethics 

About 

The LexisNexis® ELITE Award (the “Award”) is a flagship award programme that honours individuals and teams across Asia who are redefining the legal landscape through innovation, technology, and ethical leadership—celebrating both personal excellence and collaborative impact through its Individual and Team/Organisation Awards. 

The Award will be governed by the terms and conditions herein (the “Terms”). By submitting a nomination, you agree to comply with and be bound by the same.

1. The nominee must meet the following requirements to be considered for the Award:

A non-refundable nomination fee is paid by you to LexisNexis (“LN”) (via our online portal for Mainland China [link], Hong Kong SAR [link], Malaysia [link], or Singapore [link]) as follows:  

(a) Individual Award: US$200 
(b) Team/Organisation Award: US$300

2. All nomination entries must be submitted in accordance with the following:

2.1 Nominations must be submitted using the nomination form online at the following (link), including all supporting materials. Any digital supporting material submitted via the aforesaid online portal may take a variety of formats (pdf/powerpoint/jpeg, etc.) and must together not exceed the maximum upload limit of 20MB per nomination entry.    

2.2 Nominations must be submitted by the entry deadline, i.e., on or before 25 August 2025, 6:00 pm (GMT +8). You will receive a confirmation email upon successful completion of a submission. 

2.3 Nomination will not be accepted nor considered unless it contains the Nominee’s contact details, including but not limited to his/her/their business email address. 

2.4 Where a nomination submitted on behalf of a third party, you hereby undertake and confirm that you have the said third party’s consent to make such application and agree that we may disclose your details (i.e., the applicant who/which made the nomination) to the nominee. 

2.5 In the event that a nomination is submitted in a language other than English, LN reserves the right to translate the nomination and supporting materials into English for evaluation purposes and shall not be held responsible for any inaccuracies or errors that may arise from the translation process. You and/or the Nominee acknowledge and agree that the translated version of the nomination and materials may not fully or accurately reflect the original content, and LN shall not be liable for any consequences resulting from such inaccuracies or errors. 

2.6 The entries must meet the submission quality standards specified by the Terms. Incomplete submission may be disqualified at the LN’s discretion.   

3. By submitting the nomination, you and/or the Nominee:

3.1 Hereby undertake and confirm that any information and supporting materials provided to LN for the Award are true, accurate, have been lawfully created in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations, and do not contain any offensive, obscene, defamatory, illegal, confidential, proprietary, or otherwise legally protected information belonging to any third party, except where prior written permissions or licences have been obtained. You and/or the Nominee further represent and warrant that the submission of such information and materials do not violate any applicable laws, regulations or contractual obligations. 

3.2 Agree to indemnify LN and its affiliates against any and/or all losses arising from your submission in relation to the Award. 

3.3 Where applicable, agree to LN’s Website Terms of Use and Privacy Policy (“General Terms”). Should there be any inconsistency or conflict between the General Terms and the Terms, the Terms shall prevail.

4. Award Assessment and Judging

4.1.  All valid entries will be reviewed by an independent Judging Panel appointed by LN.   

4.3. The winners will be notified by email directly and announced publicly by the end of September 2025, unless otherwise notified.   

4.4.  In the event of a tie, the Judging Panel will conduct further deliberations to determine the winner(s). The Judging Panels decision is final, and no correspondence regarding the decision will be entered into. 

5. Winner Entitlements

Where a nominee is successful, he/she/they will be mentioned on LN’s website. As winners’ entitlements, such nominees will also be entitled to purchase the following at his/her/their sole discretion: 

5.1 Award Add On: US$700, which includes a trophy and publicity via LN’s channels. 

5.2 Award Ceremony Seats: US$300, which comprises one seat at an award ceremony to be hosted by LN in Hong Kong in November 2025. 

5.3 “Publicity” hereinabove refers to promotional or publicity campaigns by LN, which shall be operated by LN at its sole discretion. 

5.4 “Channels” hereinabove refers to LN’s promotional and publicity channels, which shall include but is not limited to LN’s website and social media platforms. 

5.5 By purchasing any of the above winner’s packages, the Nominee grants LN the rights necessary to publicise and promote the Nominee’s achievement as the Award winner through such relevant channels. 

6. Intellectual Property

6.1.  All intellectual property rights to the submission remain vested with the entrant, unless otherwise provided in the Terms. 

6.2. By entering the Award, the winners grant LN a royalty-free, worldwide, and non-exclusive licence to use, edit, reproduce, and distribute the submission for Award-related purposes, including the promotion of the Award in future years. This licence does not include the right to commercially exploit the submission without further agreement.   

6.3. If applicable, the winners must provide written assurances as to IP ownership or obtain the relevant licences for third-party content included in their submissions.  Otherwise, the winners shall be liable for all losses incurred.

7. Publication and Attribution

7.1. By entering the Award, entrants consent to the publication of their name and submission title in connection with the Award.   

7.2.  Entrants will be notified in advance of any publication of their submissions and given the opportunity to raise concerns.  

8. Disqualification

 8.1.  LN reserves the right to disqualify any entrant for:   
- Submitting incomplete or false information;   
- Breaching the Terms or applicable laws; or   
- Violating any third-party rights in their innovation.   

8.2.  Minor errors in submissions may be corrected within a reasonable timeframe LN’s discretion.  

9. Force Majeure

9.1. LN shall not be held liable for any delay or failure to perform its obligations under the Terms due to events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, war, pandemics, governmental restrictions, or technical failures.   

9.2. LN shall notify entrants in writing of any force majeure event and provide an expected timeline for resolution.   

10. LN retains the exclusive right to interpret the Terms and all rules of the Award. In the event of any dispute, the decision of LN shall be final.
