Starting as a relationship manager at Standard Chartered Bank, he pursued a Juris Doctor degree at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) part-time, completing it in less than three years. His unique blend of business acumen and interpersonal skills, honed through his diverse work experience, set him apart in the legal field.

Ryan's impressive career includes tenures at prestigious law firms such as Reed Smith Richards Butler, Skadden Arps, and Allen & Overy (A&O). His leadership in significant Equity Capital Market (ECM) transactions, including Xiaomi’s IPO, has earned him the respect of colleagues and partners alike. As the only counsel in A&O’s Hong Kong ECM practice, Ryan has been instrumental in building the practice from scratch, leading a team of PRC lawyers during the COVID-lockdown.

Ryan's leadership extends beyond his role. He has developed a talented team of five PRC lawyers, championed the use of tech and AI in legal practice, and created protocols for efficiency gains in prospectus drafting and due diligence.
