Jieq Jerrick Lim
Senior Legal Counsel
Duke Dawson Singapore Pte. Ltd
Jerrick commenced an arbitration under New York Law as sole legal counsel of his former company, supported with the ongoing corporate restructuring of his company, and explored opportunities to develop and grow his company's business in the Middle East, as well as supported a lively dynamic in the in-house community by organizing a mentorship programme for new junior in-house legal counsels.
With the advent of generative AI, Jerrick has implemented new corporate policies and guidelines to both support the growth of his company's business in the AI space as well as supported the use of such policies and guidelines to raise his company's profile amongst two Singaporean institutions of higher learning and the IMDA. Furthermore, Jerrick has supported the creation of cost savings by transitioning his company's entire Corporate Secretarial Services provider network to one vendor, which has been able to save the company at least USD50,000 over the next 3 years.
Jerrick is an active member in the Singapore legal community, assuming leadership by hosting monthly drinks for the in-house legal community, and is hosting the first retreat for the Singapore Corporate Counsels Association. He has led the mentorship initiative as well, allowing him to not only develop the community of in-house lawyers and establish links across senior and junior professionals.
Jerrick volunteers with Pro Bono SG working with charitable organisations to provide corporate legal advice to those charities who require it. He supports the hosting of webinars for the members of the public in Singapore, with the most recent being a webinar on Divorce on Civil Law under the Law@CDCs initiative organized with the Community Development Councils of Singapore.
Jerrick has achieved the Certificate for the Executive Program with Quantic. He has also leveraged relationships across diverse industries to undertake cross-disciplinary learning, such as in the most recent example, working with (among others) the Singapore Human Resource Institute to bring greater learning and insights not only to lawyers but students as well.
