Luo Ling Ling
Managing Director
Luo Ling Ling LLC
Ling Ling is the managing director of Luo Ling Ling LLC, a firm which she set up during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, she has led the firm to 7-digit revenues and secured several high-net-worth and corporate clients. Ling Ling's resourcefulness helped overcome contemporary challenges, including the lack of manpower, through the deployment of various legal technology tools.
Ling Ling is an established litigator who punches well above her weight. She has succeeded in complex civil cases, such as in Axis Megalink Sdn Bhd v Far East Mining Pte Ltd [2023] SGHC 243 where she successfully defended a client against multiple claims of conspiracy and misrepresentation. She has also acted for clients in prominent and highly contentious criminal cases, including in Public Prosecutor v CEO (Criminal Case No. 26 of 2023) where her client faced a charge of abetment by conspiracy with another man to rape that other man’s wife.
Despite her fearsome reputation, Ling Ling also takes time to mentor and coach young lawyers to lead their own cases. For example, she mentored a young lawyer who succeeded in setting aside a personal protection order made against the client in HCF/DCA 73/2023. This was important as the order had indicated that the client likely committed domestic violence.
Ling Ling regularly appears as lead counsel for clients under the Legal Aid Scheme for Capital Offences (“LASCO”). Her work has received notice by established publications and news networks such as Time magazine, BBC, CNN, Channel 8, ChannelNewsAsia and VICE. Moreover, Ling Ling actively volunteers for LASCO, the Legal Aid Bureau and Pro Bono SG, making every effort to give back to society. Ling Ling is also active in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, having won multiple international competitions.
Finally, her work has been commended by Judges in the Supreme Court of Singapore. One such commendation by the Honourable Justice Choo Han Teck, who praised Ling Ling in the following terms: “[H]er performance as counsel impressed me... Miss Luo has been forthright and honest in her work in court... She has a calm and patient demeanour at all times, exhibiting a steady and rational mind... she has the personal qualities to be a judicial officer”.
