Siraj is a young and promising disputes lawyer specializing in commercial litigation and criminal defence work. He was recognized as one of Asian Legal Business’ Singapore’s Rising Stars 2023, and was also conferred the LexisNexis Under 40 National Recognition Award in November 2023. Siraj has also been listed as one of Singapore’s ""Best and Highly Rated Criminal Lawyers"" in 2024 and 2023 by Singapore Legal Advice.

Siraj began his career as a Criminal Legal Aid Scheme (CLAS) Fellow with the Law Society of Singapore akin to a public defender. For 2 years, Siraj represented close to 120 accused persons at the State Courts and Supreme Court for Penal Code and other regulatory offences as lead counsel. He has secured conditional warnings, community-based sentences, fines in lieu of imprisonment and acquittals for clients at both pre-and post-trial stages in the course of this work.

Since joining Silvester Legal LLC in 2020, Siraj has maintained his criminal defence practice whilst quickly establishing himself in civil and commercial litigation with successful lead counsel experience before the Singapore State Courts and Supreme Court in employment, investor and shareholder disputes as well as contractual, tortious and intellectual property infringement claims. Most recently, Siraj successfully acted as lead counsel for a minority shareholder in a joint venture company in an oppression claim against the majority shareholder represented by a team headed by a Senior Counsel before the High Court. The Court ordered a buy-out of the minority shareholder’s 30% shareholding after reversing the dilution of his shares to 15%. Siraj continues to be entrusted by Silvester Legal LLC to take on high-stakes cases in commercial litigation as lead counsel.

Siraj continues to participate in the Law Society's Criminal Practice Committee and Pro Bono SG’s Criminal Legal Aid Scheme Committee where he has headed sub-committees to recommend expanded coverage of criminal legal aid to a larger pool of offences and to prepare a curriculum to train volunteer lawyers engaged in pro bono criminal defence work. He is also a volunteer with the Criminal Legal Aid Scheme through which he has provided pro bono representation.
