Clement Ong’s recent work spans high-profile disputes and fund structuring and transacts. He acted in notable litigation involving substantial claims and multiple parties. Clement acted in the Hin Leong trading saga and more in Singapore’s Hyflux/Tuaspring matter. Beyond contentious mandates, Clement executed niche transactions for Singapore-based funds involving various VCCs, omnibus accounts and external asset management instrumentswhich demanded bespoke, non-standard documentation compliant with MAS regulations and the simultaneous completion of onboarding, offboarding and asset transfers across multiple stakeholders. 

On the growth and market-building front, he obtained Ministry of Law approval for a Foreign Law Alliance with Wintell & Co and launched a Bangkok affiliate office with Thai partners. His cross-jurisdictional docket includes leading teams of Singapore and Thai lawyers in criminal matters in Thailand—with one money-laundering case resulting in a full acquittal after trial—and another ongoing human-trafficking matter. He is also leading a Singapore-China team on, amongst other things, a Beijing real-estate transaction valued at RMB 10 million. 

Clement invests in operational efficiency and client experience: having to be fluent in Thai within months to communicate in business settings and deploying cloud automation for client relationship management, and introduced payment-gateway solutions for alternative payment methods. He contributes to policy formation by authoring public consultation papers through Damodara Ong LLC on new laws coming into force in Singapore.
