Deeper Drug Label Database and Advanced Capabilities Provide Greater Value to Customers Across Industries

April 5, 2011 — MONTVALE, NJ; HORSHAM, PA - Network ( and Reed Technology and Information Services ( today announced the launch of PDR3D (Digital Drug Database) – a new premium drug label reference product. Accessible through, PDR3D features the industry's most comprehensive human drug label database, a suite of advanced services and an easy-to-use interface. This new product was developed by PDR Network -the trusted industry leader in essential prescribing and labeling information to U.S. physicians for over 65 years -and Reed Technology, part of the LexisNexis® -providers of a wide range of electronic content management services to pharmaceutical manufacturers.

More than a quarter of all prescription drugs have meaningful labeling changes annually - from new warnings to changes in dosing and indications. The new PDR3D platform provides easy access for users while ensuring the most current labeling information is available to make business-critical decisions.

PDR3D is the most complete reference tool for FDA-approved drug labels available to research professionals. Key features of PDR3D include:

  • The most comprehensive label database available with more than 34,000 human drug labels;
  • Daily database updates to ensure access to the most current, comprehensive information available;
  • A newly designed interface with easier access to enhanced features and database search tools;
  • Ability to find labels by fields (including Product Name, National Drug Code (NDC), RxNorm, Type, Ingredients, dosage form, visual characteristics, and many other fields) or searching using full text;
  • Full information for current-in-use and up to five years of prior versions of prescription drug labels; and
  • Access to supporting FDA documentation, including approval letters, statistical reviews, correspondence, etc.

Current users of Reed Tech's LabelDataPlus™ human health information will be offered a two-week free trial and the opportunity to subscribe to PDR3D. Users of LabelDataPlus animal health information will continue to have access to that content as they do now.

The release of PDR3D represents the first collaboration by PDR Network and Reed Technology under their newly-established strategic relationship. The companies will also leverage their complementary strengths to develop additional services for drug and device manufacturers. These ventures include PDR Network's selection of Reed Tech as their book composition provider for the Physicians' Desk Reference (PDR®) – the most highly trusted and commonly used drug information reference available in the U.S.
