Client Center Feature Now Available for Law Firm Websites Built by LexisNexis
New Feature Enables Secure, Online Collaboration and Document Sharing between Law Firms and their Clients, Directly from the Firm’s Website
August 29, 2011 — NEW YORK – LexisNexis (www.lexisnexis.com), a leading global provider of content-enabled workflow solutions, today announced the launch of the new LexisNexis® Client Center feature, which provides a secure, designated area on a law firm’s website where lawyers and their clients can easily and quickly access, review or exchange documents and relevant case information. The Client Center feature encourages clients to become more involved and informed in their matters, reduces the administrative burden on the firm, and helps to differentiate a firm in the eyes of prospective clients.

Client Center is available at no additional cost to customers of the recently introduced suite of LexisNexis website services that includes LexisNexis® Site Essentials, Site Edge and Site Exclusives. Lawyers can use Client Center to assign client tasks, share important dates like hearings and depositions, and post documents for clients to review or complete such as pleadings, interrogatories and contracts – all in one place – and tie those activities and deliverables back to the matter. When clients sign in to Client Center via the firm’s website, the transition will be seamless as the user will experience the same professional design and similar navigation structure used throughout the firm’s website. Clients can then quickly and effortlessly review their case information and provide necessary input.
The Client Center feature is powered by LexisNexis® Firm Manager™, an online practice management application for solo practitioners and small law practices, that helps lawyers organize client matter information including communications and time and expense capture. “Client Center is more secure than password protected pages, other online file sharing services or even email, where information can easily be misdirected, include the wrong recipients and often cannot be recalled successfully,” Palmieri continued. “With the ability to tie information back to a matter, lawyers enjoy complete control over information shared while retaining the ability to remove shared items at any time, offering a more secure, better alternative than sharing files via these other services.”
