LexisNexis Adds Customization Tools to Its CounselLink Solution for Corporate Legal Departments
Easy-to-Use Configuration Tools Enable Users to Manage All of Their Legal Matters More Efficiently and Effectively
April 23, 2013 — NEW YORK, LexisNexis® Legal & Professional (www.lexisnexis.com), a leading provider of content and technology solutions, today announced enhancements to its CounselLink® matter management and e-billing legal department software that enable authorized users to add and customize various fields and screen views within the application. These User-Configurable Data Fields (UCDFs) combined with a powerful new rules engine, streamline and improve a corporate legal teams’ ability to manage all their legal matters.
“By giving users the ability to customize the way they interact with matter data inside the CounselLink application, we’re giving them an efficient way to personalize the user experience and save time and money by doing the customization work themselves,” said Jonah Paransky, vice president and managing director for LexisNexis CounselLink. “There is a clear market need for matter management solutions that offer individual lawyers the flexibility to tailor the way they access and view matter data so we’ve created a simple but powerful set of customization tools inside of CounselLink to deliver that flexibility.”
Easy to use “drag and drop” configuration options enable users with little or no programming experience to design their own custom screen layouts. Additional configuration options can be used to create business rules that among other things, dynamically change the types of fields available for data entry to help improve the speed and accuracy of data capture.
System administrators also have the flexibility to create and configure different matter templates to meet the needs of various practice groups within the legal department. This enables users within each group to view and access relevant information more easily without having to navigate through multiple screens and data fields that are not relevant to their needs.
