Full Name & Title: Christine Kaiser, Client Advisor

Location: Hamburg, Germany

Describe your role at InterAction+:

Client Advisor for continental European and South African clients, rendering strategic advice to more than 30 clients

What does your typical day look like?

The major advantage of my “typical day” is that there is no such thing. Every day brings new challenges, new questions to be dealt with, new things to learn, new features to present to clients. This is quite exciting. And every client has a unique approach how to make the best of InterAction with respect to their specific demands. Hence, there is always food for thought to challenge our CRM solution to be tailored in the best way possible.

How did you come to join the InterAction+ team and how long have you been on the team?

After having gained experience in using InterAction+ for many years during my work in the legal environment (first as an assistant, then in Marketing and Business Development positions), I have been responsible for the firm-wide roll-out at a German law firm and thought of my Client Advisor (Zoe Uddgren-Young) as a role model for an interesting and challenging job. It gave me great pleasure to use her knowledge, advice, and insights to develop our internal approach educate the in-house users, and see how their progressive involvement bore fruit as the data situation gradually improved and led to reliable reports that could be meaningfully used for BD measures. After placing the idea of a German-speaking Client Advisor serving the German-speaking clients (or/and German subsidiaries of global clients) to the responsible Account Manager, it was only a question of time before the paperwork would be completed. I have been with InterAction+ since June 2022 and enjoyed every single day of it.

What trends are disrupting law firm’s workflow today?

Digitalization is partly still perceived as a challenge; professional, data-driven Business Development is often still uncharted territory for the leading players, who are used to their previous success and at times underestimate the growing competition. The new generation of leaders is stepping in and taking over but has to learn about how to develop business and to successfully face the competition.

What is the best part of your job?

I love the most being the clients’ pal regarding developing their CRM solution aligned with their specific growth in BD maturity and their business goals. Having been in their shoes helps to understand their demands and also makes it easier for me to gain the client’s trust in me as a person as well as in my experience.

What sets InterAction+ apart from other legal technology solutions?

InterAction+ is not a classic CRM solution – it is more like a relationship intelligence tool, tailor-made for lawyers with the help and input of experienced users in the legal environment. All of our Client Advisors have held in-house positions and made substantial learnings regarding lawyers’ demands for data to successfully run professional Business Development. In addition, our clients contribute continuously to the evolving product by constant exchange of experience and sharing their ideas and expectations on the database.

What techniques help you stay organized and productive?

As a devoted fan of InterAction, I like to use it to manage my customer projects. I record upcoming activities, note details according to deadlines, create tasks and assign them to the responsible colleagues (or use them as resubmissions for myself), and log opportunities in collaboration with the respective Account Manager) and track their progress. This way, my colleagues can always step in and take over in case I am absent (not only concerning scheduled vacation but also regarding ad-hoc demand for substitution in the event of a sudden absence due to illness). With my colleagues, I also share all client-related and other relevant documents – not only for the aforementioned reason, but also to have the opportunity to share knowledge and experience directly and immediately without having to send (probably outdated) documents around.

What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?

Having been an assistant for many years as well as having positions in Marketing and BD as well as CRM in-house, I am very happy about my current working situation. If I had to change position to any other profession, it would have to be something that also allows me to get in touch with people from different countries and cultures.

What does your perfect weekend look like?

A day at the beach and afterwards a barbecue.
