Easier Results Review

Does your Lexis Advance® results screen look different? Here’s why …

Now it’s even easier to find and change content types on your search results screen—Cases, Statutes and Legislation, Legal News and more—with the new Select Category pull-down menu. Just click, select a content type and go. (See below.)

Plus, if you’ve added post-search filters to focus your results, now those selected filters—additional terms, jurisdictions, etc.—display at the top of your results screen instead of the top of your filter pane. (See above.)

More Search Power

Gain judicial insights quickly with new Lexis Answers judge cards

Find background facts and cases related directly to your judge—no search needed. Just enter the word judge, magistrate or justice and a judge’s name in the Red Search Box at Lexis Advance. Your results will display a new Lexis Answers judge card. Tens of thousands of judges are covered, from federal to local. New judge cards include background information and links to available recent and noteworthy (seminal) cases, as well as available cases frequently cited by the judge and cases citing to the judge.

New segments (document parts) help you search more precisely

The segments described below are now available in Expert Witness and Trademark advanced search forms. (Select the Advanced Search link above the Red Search Box. Then click the Select a specific content type pull-down menu to choose Expert Witness or Trademark forms.)

The new EXPERT segment in Expert Witness content focuses your search to the expert name. Quickly find a specific expert in Expert Witness Testimony and Reports and Expert Witness Challenges.

In response to customer requests, we’ve added TRADEMARK and MARK-DESCRIP segments to Lexis Advance Trademarks content. Use MARK-DESCRIP to refine your search to the description of the trademark. TRADEMARK is a group segment; it restricts your search to the name, word wheel, World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) design, description, lining-stippling, name-consent, pseudomark, Greek and translation fields of the trademark document

More Must-Have Content

Six million original reporter images coming to Lexis Advance®

View original reporter pages to confirm text or validate pinpoint citations. Download a case image and use as a filing attachment. Authoritative print reporter images of more than six million federal and state cases are being added to the Lexis Advance® service, including some historic reporter images not available from other online publishers. All federal and state case images should be added by the end of June.

Publishers’ editorial text—not part of the courts’ original opinions—has been redacted from the PDF images. Here’s a reporter PDF preview—no charge.

PDF images will be available via link in the About This Document box on the right side of the full-text case. Just select a reporter image link as shown right.

Note: Additional charges to view the PDFs may be applicable. Contact your LexisNexis® representative with questions about pricing options available.
