Librarian Relations Consultant Research Tip: How to search “Major Publications” in News on Lexis Advance

If you previously used lexis.com® to search news, you may have relied on the robust selection of group files, which allowed you to limit searching to select publications. There are multiple ways to limit your searches on the Lexis Advance service, including by pre-set groups of publications.

Now, when you navigate to News via the Explore Content pod, you will notice additional content groupings, some of which you will recognize from lexis.com. And there are more coming!

Here’s how to see what’s available now. First, click on News within the Explore Content pod:

 

Now, look under Combined Publications and you’ll find additional options including Major Publications:

 

When you run a search from this screen, it will limit the search to the publications listed:

 

Note that this grouping is the same as “Mega News, Major Publications” because it includes exclusive content from our Factiva® partnership, including The Wall Street Journal®.
