Librarian Relations Consultant Research Tip: Quickly refine statute, administrative code and treaty searches with these new segments.

Segments are document parts, like the headline of a news article. On Lexis Advance, you can search within the unique document segments per content type. For example, search for specific words in the title of a treaty, the text only in a statute or administrative code, or exclude annotations and related editorial content.

Use the PARTIES segment with treaties to zero in on treaties affecting only specified signatories—parties and nations of interest. Use the TEXT segment with statutes or administrative codes to restrict your search to the actual text of the code. Both segments are available in the Advanced Search form specific to your content type. Advanced Search forms are available from the Red Search Box. Advanced Search forms also display automatically when you select the title in Explore Content listings.
