"Eight of the more than 30 immigrant activists who tried Monday to enter the U.S. at an international bridge in Laredo have been released pending their immigration cases. Federal authorities released four teenagers and three adults — parents of young activists who at the last minute chose to join their protest — pending their hearings in an immigration court. A Honduran woman who protesters said has a U.S. citizen child requiring medical care and who joined the activists in a Nuevo Laredo immigrant shelter also was let go. A total of 36 people, including the 4-year-old U.S. citizen, marched across Laredo's international pedestrian bridge Monday afternoon, asking for humanitarian parole and asylum." - Jason Buch, Oct. 2, 2013.
