Phoenix Suns To Be ‘Los Suns’ Tonight In Response To Immigration Law

Reacting to Arizona’s recently passed immigration law, which takes effect in August, the Phoenix Suns will take the court tonight for Game Two of their NBA playoff matchup with the San Antonio Spurs wearing jerseys with their name in Spanish, CNN has reported.

Suns owner Robert Sarver told CNN that his team will be  “Los Suns” on the Mexican holiday of Cinco de Mayo to honor Phoenix’s Latino community.

Arizona’s immigration law, which allows Arizona police to demand proof of residency, has been criticized by some as racial profiling and applauded by others as necessary to combat illegal immigration.
