WASHINGTON, D.C. - Sidley Austin LLP has announced that Jeffrey M. Senger, former acting chief counsel and Deputy Chief Counsel of the Food and Drug Administration, has joined Sidley as a partner in the global food, drug and medical device regulatory practice. He will be based in the firm's Washington, D.C., office and will focus on a broad array of enforcement, compliance and regulatory matters.
Senger previously served as senior counsel in the Office of the Associate Attorney General at the U.S. Department of Justice, where he assisted in overseeing the work of more than 2000 lawyers, including specific responsibility for the office that provided counsel and legal representation to the FDA. Throughout his 17 years at the Justice Department, including an appointment as a special assistant U.S. attorney, Senger served as lead counsel in many civil and criminal trials before juries and judges in federal and state courts, and he argued cases in the U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeals. Senger graduated with honors from Harvard College and Harvard Law School, and he began his career as a law clerk for a federal judge.
