NEW YORK - The law firm of Jacob Fuchsberg, one of the leading trial law firms in the New York area, has announced that Leslie D. Kelmachter, a partner of the firm, was named president of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association.
Kelmachter joined the Fuchsberg law firm in 2000. She has successfully tried cases in state and federal courts involving personal injury, medical malpractice, product liability and wrongful death and has been widely recognized for her effectiveness in the courtroom.
Kelmachter has served as chair of the Tort Litigation Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, and was appointed to that association's Committee on the Judiciary.
The fourth woman to serve as president of the association since its founding in 1953, Kelmachter will serve a one-year term and succeeds Nicholas Timko. Kelmachter is a graduate of the State University of New York and Albany Law School.
