WASHINGTON, D.C. - The international law firm Greenberg Traurig LLP has expanded its Washington, D.C., office with the addition of Johnine P. Barnes as a shareholder in the Labor & Employment Practice. Before joining Greenberg Traurig, Barnes was a partner with Baker Hostetler in Washington, D.C., during which time she also served as the chair of the District of Columbia Public Employee Relations Board.
Barnes assists clients with litigating and defending administrative claims of harassment; retaliation and discrimination on the basis of age, race, sex and disability; wrongful discharge and breach of contract issues; and compliance with the American with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act and other federal and state statutes governing employment. She has counseled and represented companies, government agencies and associations on labor law issues, including the Fair Labor Standards Act, as well as analogous state statutes, collective bargaining, grievance arbitration and National Labor Relations Board proceedings.
Barnes joins the more than 100 team members who make up Greenberg Traurig's international Labor & Employment Practice.
