Police Officer's Complaint Against Her Employer Survives Summary Judgment

ABERDEEN, Miss. - A Mississippi federal judge, citing "conflicting descriptions of a muddled set of facts," on March 8 denied summary judgment to a city on a police officer's claim that she was turned down for a promotion because of her sex (Bethany K. Smith v. City of Tupelo, Mississippi, No. 1:10-cv-217, N.D. Miss.; 2012 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 30721).
