Wisconsin Federal Judge: Company Had Proper Reasons For Laying Off 2 Women

MILWAUKEE - While expressing sympathy for two women who were laid off after working for a company for more than 25 years, a Wisconsin federal judge on March 16 granted their former employer summary judgment on the women's claims of age and gender discrimination, finding that the women had failed to establish prima facie cases (Jacqueline Herd-Barber and Janet Jastremski v. Freescale Semiconductor, Inc., No. 09-cv-535, E.D. Wis.; 2012 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 35560).
