Arizona Federal Judge Orders State To Perform Cost Study On Medicaid Cuts

PHOENIX - A federal judge in Phoenix on March 23 partially denied a motion to dismiss a challenge to the State of Arizona's decision to cut Medicaid reimbursement rates to hospitals and healthcare providers, saying the state failed to conduct the requisite cost analysis to determine if the new rates are consistent with efficiency, economy and quality of care (Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association v. Thomas J. Betlach, Director of the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System, et al., No. CV11-2348, D. Ariz.; 2012 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 39714).
