Virginia Federal Judge: Hostile Work Environment, Wrongful Discharge Claims Fail

RICHMOND, Va. - Evidence provided by a cement truck driver fails to support his race discrimination claims against his former employer but instead merely "tells a tale perhaps of an employment relationship gone awry," a Virginia federal judge held March 26 in granting the employer's motion for summary judgment (Milton D. Thorpe v. Mechanicsville Concrete, LLC, d/b/a Powhatan Ready Mix,  No. 3:10-cv-797, E.D. Va.; 2012 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 41194).
