Mississippi High Court: Directed Verdict Proper In Premises Liability Case

JACKSON, Miss. - A split Mississippi Supreme Court on April 5 reinstated a directed verdict for a hospital in a slip-and-fall injury action, concluding that the plaintiff's doctor could not determine if the woman's knee injuries were the direct result of the fall (Elizabeth Martin v. St. Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospital, No. 2009-CT-01365-SCT, Miss. Sup.; 2012 Miss. LEXIS 177).
