Judge: Hygienist's Opinions Reliable, Flaws Can Be Challenged At Trial

PHILADELPHIA - An industrial hygienist offered as an expert by valve and pump manufacturers in asbestos litigation relied on numerous reports in reaching her conclusions, and any flaws in her own studies can be addressed on cross-examination, according to a report adopted by the judge overseeing the federal asbestos multidistrict litigation on April 23 (In re: Asbestos Products Liability Litigation $(No. VI$), Susan Mary Staton, et al. v. American Standard Inc., et al., No. MDL 875, 09-93760, E.D. Pa.).
