Judge: Defendants Can Pursue Contribution Claims From Third Parties

OKLAHOMA CITY - Defendants in a lawsuit seeking liability and response costs under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) can pursue claims for contribution from third parties, a federal judge in Oklahoma ruled April 27 in denying motions for judgment on the pleadings from the third parties (Tronox Worldwide LLC v. Atlantic Richfield Company, et al.,  No. CIV-07-1017-HE, W.D. Okla.; 2012 U.S Dist. LEXIS 59130).
