NEW ORLEANS - The Louisiana federal judge overseeing the multidistrict litigation for claims arising from the explosion of the Deepwater Horizon rig and ensuing oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico gave preliminary approval for two separate class settlement agreements on May 2, one resolving certain economic and property damage claims and one resolving certain medical claims stemming from the cleanup response effort (In re: Oil Spill by the Oil Rig "Deepwater Horizon" in the Gulf of Mexico on April 20, 2010, MDL 2179, No. 10-md-2179, E.D.
