Pennsylvania Federal Judge: Former Company Officer Owed Severance For Firing

PHILADELPHIA - A bankrupt biopharmaceutical company owes its former chief operating officer (COO) $125,000 for six months of severance pay because a termination email sent to her in 2010 constituted immediate dismissal from her job, which triggered the severance provision of her employment agreement, even though the company reinstated her a week later, a Pennsylvania federal judge held Aug. 20 (In the matter of:  TenX Biopharma, Inc., No. 12-2431, E.D. Pa.; 2012 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 117065).
