Court Affirms $35.7M Asbestos Verdict Against Absentee Defendant

FRANKFURT, Ky. - While the record suggests that a company's attorneys never received an order rescheduling an asbestos trial, the company's failure to appear at the trial arose from its own "lack of attention," a Kentucky appeals panel held Feb. 8 (National Services Industries Inc. v. Frances Skaggs, individually and as executrix of the estate of Elliot Skaggs, No. 2011-CA-001749-MR, Ky. App.).
