BP, Government Agree Company Collected 810,000 Barrels Of Oil During Spill

NEW ORLEANS - In what published reports are saying could save BP Exploration and Production Inc. more than $3 billion in penalties under the Clean Water Act (CWA), a federal judge in Louisiana on Feb. 19 approved an agreement between the company and the federal government that the company collected 810,000 barrels of oil during the spill in the Gulf of Mexico in 2010 (In re: Oil Spill by the Oil Rig "Deepwater Horizon" in the Gulf of Mexico on April 20, 2012, MDL 2179, E.D. La.).
