3rd Circuit Reinstates Police Sergeants' Retaliation, Bias Claims

PHILADELPHIA - The Third Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals on March 8 vacated summary judgment for a New Jersey city, its police department and two officials in two lawsuits filed by police sergeants alleging that retaliation and discrimination caused them to be denied promotions to lieutenant (Valerie Montone v. City of Jersey City, et al., No. 11-2990, John Astriab, et al. v. City of Jersey City, et al., No. 11-3516, 3rd Cir.; 2013 U.S. App. LEXIS 4720).
