ST. LOUIS - A federal judge in Missouri on March 11 stayed a Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act suit brought by Asarco LLC seeking contribution and recovery of moneys spent to remediate contamination at the Southeastern Missouri Mine District, ruling that suspending the case while the government determines how much has been spent to clean up the site was not prejudicial to the plaintiff company (Asarco LLC v. NL Industries Inc., et al., No. 11-CV-00864-JAR, E.D. Mo.; 2013 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 33979).
