Pennsylvania Trespass Claim Dismissed In Suit Alleging Gas Pad Damages Property

SCRANTON, Pa. - Defense motions to dismiss trespass and misappropriation claims alleged by the owners of a Bradford County, Pa., tract of land against natural gas extraction companies were granted in part on June 3 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania; the judge ruled that the trespass claim is unsustainable as a matter of law but that the misappropriation claim is adequately pleaded (Valley Rod & Gun Club v. Chesapeake Appalachia, et al., No. 13-735, M.D. Pa.; 2013 US Dist. LEXIS 77436).
