Insurer's Inability To Investigate Leads Judge To Dismiss Bad Faith Claim

DALLAS - Because an insurer was unable to investigate its insured's claimed roof damage due to its immediate repair, a Texas federal judge on June 25 held that the insurer's denial of coverage was reasonable and not in bad faith (Mario Santacruz v. Allstate Texas Lloyds Inc., No. 3:12-cv-02553, N.D. Texas; 2013 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 88799).
