9th Circuit Upholds Sanctions In File-Sharing Suit; Consolidates Appeals

SAN FRANCISCO - In a July 9 ruling, a Ninth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals panel declined to modify or stay several rulings against the plaintiff's law firm in an online copyright infringement case, including sanctions of more than $200,000 for fraudulent behavior levied by a California federal judge (Ingenuity 13 LLC, et al. v. John Doe, No. 13-55881, 9th Cir.).
