HSBC Not Liable For Charges On Lost Credit Card, Federal Judge Rules

PORTLAND, Ore. - A federal judge in Oregon on July 29 granted HSBC Bank Nevada NA and Portfolio Recovery Associates LLC's (PRA) motions to dismiss a suit in which a consumer alleges that HSBC failed to cancel his credit card after it was lost, noting that the consumer did not allege whether charges were made on the card after it was lost and how much in authorized charges were made (Damion Bromfield v. HSBC Bank Nevada NA, et al., No. 13-0462, D. Ore.; 2013 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 105487).
