Texas Appeals Panel Upholds Award For Child's Shooting Death

HOUSTON - The 14th District Texas Court of Appeals on Aug. 29 upheld a $100,000 award to a man whose young son died of an accidental gunshot wound on the defendant's property, concluding that "we cannot conclude that the award is so against the great weight and preponderance of the evidence so that it is manifestly unjust" (Daniel Plasencia v. John Burton, No. 14-12-00789-CV, Texas App., 14th Dist.).
