Consumer Properly Pleaded Improper Debt Collection Claims, Federal Judge Rules

NEW YORK - A federal judge in New York on Sept. 16 denied motions to dismiss in a Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) lawsuit against a debt collector, a law firm and others, ruling that a consumer has properly stated a claim for relief under Section 1692f of the FDCPA (Johnson Poku Okyere v. Palisades Collection LLC, et al., No. 12-1453, S.D. N.Y.; 2013 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 132002).
