Judge Questions Jurisdiction In Fair Debt Collection Practices Act Lawsuit

ST. LOUIS - A federal judge in Missouri on Sept. 16 granted consumers leave to amend their complaint for alleged violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), ruling that she had "serious doubts" whether she has subject matter jurisdiction over the claims made (Kurt Ponzar, et al. v. Matthew Layfield, et al., No. 12-2219, E.D. Mo.; 2013 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 131813).
