Judge Declines To Award Sanctions, Attorney Fees In Debt Collection Lawsuit

JACKSON, Miss. - A federal judge in Mississippi on Sept. 18 declined to grant sanctions and attorney fees to a debt collector in a Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) lawsuit, ruling that the action was dismissed "early in the litigation" (Stephen Thompson v. S&S Recovery Inc., No. 12-77, S.D. Miss.; 2013 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 133443).
