Judge: Insurer Owes $1.08M To Insured For Defense Of Construction Defects Lawsuit

FLORENCE, S.C. - An insurer owes $1.08 million to an insured for costs to defend an underlying construction defects case, a South Carolina federal judge ruled Sept. 27, also entering judgment for the insured in the amount of $16,473.34, which is the insurer's time-on-risk indemnity obligation under the policy (Crossmann Communities of North Carolina Inc., et al. v. Harleysville Mutual Insurance Co., No. 09-1379, D. S.C.; 2013 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 138941).
