NEW ORLEANS - The Fifth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals on Oct. 7 affirmed a district court's award of summary judgment to the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corp. and JP Morgan Chase Bank N.A., the latter of which acquired a loan after the failure of Washington Mutual Bank (WaMu), in a suit in which Chase and Freddie Mac sued a borrower to obtain a judgment declaring the validity of a past foreclosure on his property (JP Morgan Chase Bank N.A., et al. v. George Dixon, No. 12-40590, 5th Cir.; 013 U.S. App. LEXIS 20442).
