Federal Judge Enters Default Ruling, Orders Shipping Company To Pay Award

NEW YORK - After a shipping entity failed to respond to a Panamanian company's petition to confirm an arbitration award that was issued in its favor, a New York federal judge on Oct. 7 entered a default ruling, ordering the entity to pay $107,450 (Dyna Shipping Co. S.A. v. MP Line S.A., No. 12-9303, S.D. N.Y.).
